Momma Dog

December 11, 2010: Gracie is almost back to her old self. I hopped into the whelping box today to fix the blankets and cuddle the puppies, Gracie hopped in right behind me.........with a stuffed animal in her mouth which she adamantly threw at me in hopes I would play a quick game of fetch. She seems to be able to juggle 'work' and 'play' just fine!

She's even back to her old sleeping habits. I found her crashed out on the back of the couch this afternoon in which I viewed as a perfect opportunity to get some Christmas themed pictures:

Back in a flash!

December 11, 2010: I've been getting heat for not posting in two days! Individual puppy posts are on their way along with a whole lot of cute overload. Puppies certainly make your heart grow!

The Picasso Gracie Litter

December 8, 2010: To avoid calling the puppies by the color of their collars, we have given the pups names of Picasso's paintings: Maya, Jolie, Lola, Dora and Pepa. The pups are doing GREAT and Gracie is recovering so nicely from her C-section. The smallest of the litter is the light pink girl, Lola (appropriately named?), and the largest of the litter is Maya (dark blue) and Jolie (green). Dora (white) and Pepa (light blue) are in the middle pups.

And finally, here are some pictures of The Picasso Gracie Litter:

Happy Birthday Puppies

December 4, 2010: Happy Birthday to five beautiful puppies - all girls, all seem healthy so far! And a HUGE heartfelt thank you to Dr. Holly (I don't remember her last name, that's how tired I am!) and her amazing assistants who did an outstanding job delivering the puppies by C-section. I can't stress enough what a wonderful job they did, how professional and caring they were, and yet they had prepared us for the worst. THANK YOU!

Gracie is recovering from surgery and within the last hour she has made a great attempt to bond with the pups. If there is a dog that deserves a "dog of the year" award, it is Gracie. She is like a rock - so strong, so so brave and we all know she has been through a lot this year. She gives me strength!!!

Congrats to Picasso - the sire!

There are so many people to thank but more on that later. For now, I leave you with a puppy picture: eat, sleep, squeal.

We're just hoping everyone stays happy and healthy.
