Stevie @ Home

ALL of the pups and their owners are doing such great jobs. I already have brags about these puppies!!! Nothing but happy, content smiles from me this past week even though I miss the little tykes like crazy!

Now a little about Stevie. She has yet again exceeded my expectations with her training accomplishments at less than 10 weeks of age. A lot of credit goes to her owners of course. Stevie is the pup that disappeared at less than 1 week of age and we found her tightly curled up inside the cotton batting of the Ikea comforter at the very bottom of the whelping box. She's a very determined puppy.

Pepper @ Home

Pepper is being trained as a hunting dog. Between 8 and 16 weeks, her owners will be introducing her to bird feathers, scent, hunting dummies, etc., softening her bite, work on her retrieve ability and begin the training for basic obedience, hand signals and commands. They are a step ahead of me already and I look forward to learning a thing or two from them through this process.

Eau-dee @ Home

Eau-dee is like a mini Gracie. She's solid with lots of substance and has a beautiful front. We're very happy with her new home who has tons of experience with the Toller breed.

Weekend Adventure

February 7, 2011: On Saturday, two of the pups and I went on a little road trip adventure. We drove to Calgary where we picked up a little 4.5 month old Toller named Zinnia and then headed to Golden B.C. to drop off Zinnia and one of the pups with friends. The next day our last puppy went home. We are now puppy-less and missing them dearly; however, we are beyond happy with the homes that adopted these 5 puppies. I sincerely believe each and every puppy will be spoiled and loved more than I could ask for!!! We have the sweetest pictures from their new homes and I hope to share them soon enough (with permission).

Regarding little Zinnia - what a sweet puppy!!! Zinnia became ill a few weeks ago with a very hard to diagnose sickness. Many breeders, Toller owners/breeders, pet lovers, have combined their efforts to help with Zinnia's medical testing and bring her back to her wonderful breeder. It made me completely happy to see Zinnia reunited with her breeder who literally opened Zinnia's crate door, picked her up and snuggled and hugged Zinnia in her arms for 10-15 minutes solid. I'm so extremely happy to see the two reunited and Zinnia is blessed to have so many people who care about her recovery and also blessed to have a breeder who will do anything for her. On that note, Zinnia had another seizure this morning which is what compelled me to post this blog update. If you can think of any way to help, visit this website for more information: http://www.daintreeducktollers.com/please-help-zinnia/

Quick Update

February 3, 2011: We're still here. We still have a few pictures to post of the Gracie x Picasso litter and some puppy updates. In the meantime we're doting on the adult Toller and the GSD as much as possible. They've worked just as hard as we have the last 8 to 9 weeks. The momma Toller obviously had her hands full and the GSD did a lot of puppysitting. It is now time for some relaxing uninterrupted cuddles on the couch with my two favorite pooches. :) More later.
